3D Printer

EP-M300 Metal

The EP-M300 is an even larger metal 3D printing on EP’s catalog. With a larger build volume, you can tackle larger projects and make even bigger 3D-printed parts out of nearly 100% pure metal by volume.

With the EP-M300, you get access to an even more powerful laser. It has an optional dual-laser configuration that generates 1000W of power. With more laser power, you can create parts faster, achieve better accuracy, and work on a larger range of materials.

Many engineers use the EP-M300 as their go-to in-house metal 3D printer. It can stand up to any challenge you throw at it, and you’ll be able to get consistent, reliable, and repeatable metal parts from this SLM 3D printer.

The EP-M300 will integrate into your existing workflow perfectly. It can either completely replace your need for a machine shop, or work in tandem with traditional machining.

Features and Benefits

Industry-Preferred Functionality and Reliability

Like any other 3D printer from EP, the EP-M300 offers a lot of functionality and reliability for industrial applications just like yours. Any engineering department can benefit from the EP-M300, since it’s so versatile. With fewer maintenance and service tasks over time, you won’t have to worry about slowdowns when you want to make a part. It’s as simple as turning on the machine and hitting “go”, then your new parts will come to life.

Versatility You Deserve

Industrial-grade 3D printers can lead to some sticker shock until you realize how useful the technology is. With the EP-M300, the price is more than justified with the versatility you get with this machine. It can handle complex projects from any industry.

  • Wide range of material options. Thanks to the powerful laser, you can use a larger range of material options, allowing you to hand-pick the material properties of your parts.
  • 24/7 printing availability. These machines can run with no supervision, unlocking around-the-clock printing capabilities.
  • Make new or upgraded parts quickly. You can easily go from an initial concept to a finished part in less than 24 hours with the EP-M300.

Incredibly Easy to Use

The EP-M300 is designed for people who don’t have previous printing experience. It’s a great option to bring into your engineering department. With the EP-M300, all of the guesswork is taken out of 3D printing, allowing you to make parts sooner without a learning curve.

  • Touchscreen with instructions. The touchscreen tells you everything you need to know, and the prompts guide you through each printing process.
  • One-touch printing. With the 3D STL file loaded into your machine, you can start printing a new part by pressing a single button.
  • Great for beginners or experts alike. Whether you have no experience or 10 years of experience, the EP-M300 will allow you to make high-quality metal parts.

Get Metal Parts Faster

Getting metal parts delivered to your building can be an expensive and time-consuming process without the EP-M300. Once you have your own metal SLM 3D printer, you can get these parts even faster and with fewer headaches.

  • Perfect for prototypes. You can use the EP-M300 to create a dozen iterations of the same prototype within the same week, allowing you to expedite the full prototyping phase.
  • Handle low-volume production with ease. The same machine can also handle production-quality 3D prints so you can handle your production in-house.
  • Avoid using machine shops altogether. A lot of people rely on their EP-M300 instead of a machine shop, saving a ton of time and money on each part.

More About This Technology

Selective laser melting (SLM) metal 3D printing is the newest form of 3D printing that is reserved almost exclusively for industrial applications. These printers are more expensive to purchase and have higher operating costs, but they create parts made out of pure metal. A bed of metal powder sits directly under a high-powered laser on an XY (2-axis) gantry.

When the laser shines on the powdered metal, the metal fuses together and becomes molten, then solid. The head of an SLM 3D printer will move around the bed of metal powder, fusing together your part one layer at a time. The bed then moves down a little, a new layer of metal powder is applied, and the laser continues working on the next layer. This continues until your part is finished.

After the part is fused together, it goes into an oven to cure and get rid of any additives in the metal powder. After some time, you’re left with a part made completely out of metal.

SLM Metal 3D printers rival traditional CNC machining, and the end result can be seemingly identical. However, it’s much faster, typically more affordable, and can run 24/7 with very little supervision, unlike a machine shop.

You can find parts made from SLM Metal 3D printers in almost any industry. Wherever CNC machining is used, SLM Metal printing can be the substitute. Examples include the aerospace, automotive, medical, industrial, and defense industries.
